Quelques recherches m'ont donné à§a.

Bête peut-être, mais :
- voir les cavaliers Maître / Esclave
- voir si le "cable select" ne résoud pas ton prob.
- voir si dans le gestionnaire de périfs (et Bios) le/les disques sont en Ultra DMA 4

I hooked up my devices, MSI GeForce 3 Ti-200 128Mb, Hitachi DVD drive, Teac CD-RW, and 80Gb Western Digital Spec Edition with 8mb cache buffer(ata100 capable), when I have my hard-drive hooked up to the ATA-100 Primary IDE, my system locks up after 1-5 minutes after boot-up, everything runs great if I have my HDD hooked up to ATA-66 IDE, doesn't matter which IDE my DVD and CD-RW is hooked to, but the system locks up when I have my hard-drive hooked up to the ATA-100 IDE, if I hook my HDD to ATA-66, it tells me that Ultra ATA 100 will not be loaded because it did not detect any ATA 100 devices, I don't get the message when I hook up my hard drive to ATA-100, but it will surely crash, I tried unhooking all USB, doesn't help,
Has anyone come across something like this?
How did you resolve it? BIOS updates? Trying to find the AWARD BIOS updates on the ASUS site has increased my blood pressure and I can't seem to locate any updates to the PROMISE controllers, I don't if this helps but my sound card is SB LIVE, with onboard sound disabled at the jumper and the BIOS

Merci, bcp Phillipe,
alors la version du flash que j'ai downloadé est la 1009. l'ancienne etait la 1001u.
voilà  pour l'instant en ce qui concerne le bios et le wd80Go
mais persiste toujours l'autre pb...
